Atkinson’s prose is so intriguing and her characters are so witty and charming. A lovely pleasant read that also challenges you to confront the evils of human behavior, especially men’s violence against women.

Fast-paced, yet detail oriented. I never feel like I needed more information after a scene or chapter. There’s a lot of characters to keep track of, but that’s not really my strong suit. The narrative changes so much compared to Kindred with a narrator from the time-period vs from the future. The story becomes a lot more intimate/familiar rather than alien/foreign..

Haunting

Representation is just as shocking as it is comforting.
