Listening to the audiobook and the speed is strange; already adjusted to 0.95 speed but it still gets strangely quick. Not sure I'll be able to get into the book enough to ignore the speed fluctuations

I'm really regretting not reading the first two before starting this one; I think I would be enjoying this one so much more. An excuse to do a big reread next year though

Hopefully it's just the poor narration by Nigel Planer; how anyone can 'exclaim' in a monotone is beyond me

Stephen Briggs is doing a good job of the narration

interesting, but very light. currently in a chapter which seems to consist of food recipes... had to stop before I got hungry

Slightly too simplistic for me, likely due to my nutrition background, but enjoyable nonetheless

This is not a high quality biography; there are just too many assumptions and suppositions, likely due to lack of information about James Barry. Saying that such and such a person must have known something, despite there being no evidence to support it, makes this read almost like a fictionalised account of their life.

Switching from Ben himself narrating to someone else was a mistake. It emphasises that it is not Ben narrating even though it's good narration

So glad I was reminded of this book. and the time of the narrator suits the book perfectly

Coming to the conclusion this is not aimed at the kind of depression I live with; many of the recommendations are the exact opposite of what I should do when I'm struggling with it. This still has enough relevance to continue reading (and highlighting)
