I’m dragging myself through this book tbh. First two chapters were interesting and give a ton of context.

Then the main character becomes the most annoying, stubborn, non-realistic teen. She’s 17 but acts as if she’s 14? Idk. Rude to folks when it doesn’t make sense and just oblivious of other stuff. *sigh*
Since 35% it became slightly more interesting but idk what the hype is 🫠

Im not sure I can finish this book.

The storytelling and storytellers pov is a very white, western, a bit … not sure if entitled is the word. Definitely does not understand other belief systems. She pokes at the people who welcomes her to tag along with very lame, cheap jokes. While I understand she wants to make a fun quirky book, this is not the way and I certainly don’t feel any connection with her writing.

I feel lile this is a police brutality book... :/ not what I expected at all from King. Let's see what happens
