Open Season is a solid, grounded start to the series, with its modern western feel and the rural Wyoming setting really carrying the story. The pacing is slow but works, letting the tension build naturally through the setting and characters rather than relying on big twists. It’s atmospheric, easy to sink into, and by the end, I was definitely curious to keep going.

The writing is beautiful, but the constant focus on the time loop made it hard for the story and romance to fully land for me.

A thriller with potential, but the predictable red herrings, tedious characters, and uneven pacing made it hard to stay invested, and some of the twists were honestly so dumb.

A western with potential, but its glamorized tone, uneven plotting, and lack of the gritty authenticity the setting calls for kept it from fully landing for me.

A great blend of crime suspense and thriller, this one hits hard with flawed characters and high stakes that keep you locked in from start to finish. I had to suspend disbelief here and there, but the momentum of the story kept me going.

A lyrical and layered reimagining of Norse mythology, blending myth, heart, and fate into a story that feels both timeless and deeply human.

Lots of criticism about pacing, however I felt like it the pacing is steady and deliberate.

Slow burn pays off.
