I...don't understand this book. MC has never interacted w/ hot dudes? And so falls in love with Evil Prince instantly b/c abs? Then does 180 b/c of tame throwaway lines on flattery working on girls? To point where she runs away and hates her mom for not giving her all the secrets of the kingdom (although it's just as likely her mom doesn't know?). Then falls for another guy at first sight.

Okay, Bel is cute. I still want my Mogget, but I will settle for him.

Honestly having spoiled myself about who Clariel is, I think we're being a bit heavy handed with her not wanting to be around people. I think she'd be a more interesting character overall if she did enjoy friends? Like at least with Lirael, the isolationism was protectionary.
