I just finished Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail (Oprah's Book Club 2.0 1) and gave it 5 stars.

It's 3:37 a.m. I just couldn't stop turning the pages of A Thousand Splendid Suns. A devastating 5 stars, all the way. Don't know that I can sleep even now that I've come to the end. Haunting, regardless of being left with a note of hope.

I just finished The Book Thief: Enhanced Movie Tie-in Edition and gave it 5 stars.

I just finished Smoke Gets in Your Eyes: And Other Lessons from the Crematory and gave it 5 stars. A must read for those who know nothing about the death industry, are in denial of the need to face death-in-life, and haven't made peace about what you wish for your own spent body. For the record, many parts made me raucously laugh out loud. You will, too. Read it!

Wow. Nobody ever talks about death, what happens to the body, and how to integrate acceptance of death into everyday life in a culture hell bent on denial. I love this memoir already and have been a rabid fan of the author's Order of the Good Death website and Facebook page as well as her Ask a Mortician series on YouTube.
