Okay so the story has picked up by now and I’ve red through the last 30 pages the way I usually do for Stiefvater’s books: nonstop. Excited to see how this continues

So far I’m 70 pages in and I have to admit that I’m struggling slightly with this one. I love Maggie Stiefvater’s books and so I’m pretty familiar with her style of writing and the magical realism in her story telling but it might be the 3rd person that’s not clicking with me on this one. It’s not bad, just definitely not an easy read

I’m finding that the best way to read this since the book is each morning I read a handful of the good morning quotes, and each night I go back and read the companion goodnight quotes! Its helping me to resonate more with each verse and also a good way to take my time with it

Right here is where I roll my eyes so hard they almost get stuck. Im so tired of the old trope of “mom’s shady ass boyfriend visits the school to say theres been an accident. And now the main character is going to get trapped into some overarching seedy plot”
