Having recently (re)watched the movie -- which is a good one -- I decided that I should read the book.

OK, a fun read. Hard to keep the movie characters out of my head as I read the dialogue, and watchful for the divergences (e.g. visiting Emily's parents, interesting in the book, but I can see why the movie cut that scenario). A good rollicking, rolling tale.

Having recently (re)watched the movie -- which is a good one -- I decided that I should read the book.

Started a little slowly, but picked up. Serge as a spy was a pretty good conceit -- particularly for anyone familiar with the Burn Notice TV show. The usual Serge mayhem (always warranted, according to his psychopathic philosophies), creative killing methodology, and Coleman's stoner bumbling make for a kind of Florida comfort food. Of sorts.

Great book so far. The writing style is interesting, third person, but so intimate with Cromwell's thoughts. Reads much easier than I expected.
