OK, looks like the world is in for some serious hurt!

The backdrop is the Chinese cultural revolution. A time where the mob ruled, and idealism was morphed into a vengeful purge of intellectuals.

Ye Wnjie, struggles through witnessing her father killed by violent rRed Guard youths

She suffers through work camps and finds that she is needed to help run a secret military base that turns out to be much more than she ever imagined.

This was an interesting read. Haraei looks at why humans have dominated the planet.

He comes at the subject from a unique perspective. At least from a point of view I haven't heard brought up before.

He proposed it's our ability to communicate and corporate with one another that has enabled us weild planetary power. This along with intelligence and speech is what has given us the upper hand.

A little hard to follow the story so far. He writes in a differnt kind of style that I'm not use to reading.
