My first impression is that the volume feels rushed, as if Suzanne was battling a tight schedule. Sunrise lacks the depth & color the previous volumes enjoyed.
Your cruising along then BANG there's President Snow. Where did he come from? How did he get there? I foresee a volume #6, Snow Lands On Top or the like.

So far, I'm struck that the writing style is different—almost as if she were on a right schedule. It lacks the complexity, depth, even the color of her previous 4 volumes.
Your cruising along and then BANG there's President Snow. We need a volume #6... "Snow lands on Top" or the like. Where did he come from? How did he get there?

25% into the book and author Synnot is still laying groundwork...educating. This is fascinating

Only on page 14 and I'm already hooked! I LOVE the way Gillian develops her character characters.

Michal Angelo is on page 200 of 297 of The Climb: Tragic Ambitions on Everest
This volume is highly detailed, and although somewhat technical measures are taken to explain such that the layman can understand.
Once the teams (Fisher & Hall) acclimatise to site IV things start to happen fast and on is left wondering, "who... did what?!" I'm sure the intensity of this volume severely pales in the face of the actual incident.

One does not first need to read Krakauer's Into Thin Air to understand The Climb. This volume, although using technical jargon, is supplemented with footnotes and asides that make the read easy and enjoyable.

Michal Angelo is on page 122 of 304 of Hunt the Dragon (SEAL Team Six, #6)
* A book that would be more appropriate in the YA (Young Adults) section of the library, this volume lacks the tactical detail and 'edge' that so well defines a book of this genera.
