Happy 🇨🇦 Canada 🇨🇦 Day! From the True North Strong and Free!

Well ... this is not a book I would normally select, but it is a bookclub read. It’s good to diversify one’s interests, so here we go! Besides, the author is coming to bookclub...so I better read it!😳

I am so excited to be reading this book since it recently won Canada Reads 2019.... just going to get started!

This book is not only very well written but it is also hilarious!! The author creates real visuals with the descriptions and narratives. His eclectic choice or creation of characters really adds depth to the story.

This is a fascinating read! The author is a very talented story teller. His descriptions are quite vivid and he makes very good use of dialogue. His use of descriptive thoughts is also very effective.

Many books currently seem to be written in this fashion of jumping from past to present to past to present. It can often be confusing , particularly when the transition takes place all in the same chapter. While this has quite a good plot and rather good character development , the story can sometimes drag or be confusing.
