I think the least insufferable characters at this point in the story are the cats. All of the other characters (Abdullah, the Soldier and the Genie) are incredibly surly and a bit grating on the nerves.

I really like Abdullah and his motley crew of misfits and bandit knights. This is how a quest novel should be written.

I'm really digging the dynamic between Alice and Peter so far. The quest to get Professor Grimes back is just the outer layer of what seems to be a story about growth in the face of impossible odds.

The trek back to Tosu City has begun. Cia and Tomas have reunited in the destruction of Chicago and are heading back in their final test.

Post apocalyptic doom and gloom. It doesn't read like your typical YA novel. It's written very smartly, but easy to understand. Academic Hunger Games. May the odds be ever in your favour.

It's the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine~

The Heart of Gold is back and everyone is confused. It's very realistic after all the garbage they've been through.

I really love how Adams writes dialogue. It's so punchy and engaging. It makes me think of the conversations I have with my friends.
