Great so far! So fascinating they mention MLK Jr. and we are celebrating him today!

It’s been a while so I had to go back to each chapter to refresh my memory 😅 and it kind of helped link some characters together and the inter-relationships! I still feel like a family tree may be easier to build out to help the reader understand

It’s interesting to see Walid Ammar’s character as the patriarch nobody likes and his true colors showing and then the weird twist of the harpist knowing him and his deceased mother. I’m sad Marcus punched his uncle even though he seemed to deserve it. It was nice of Marcus to stand up for his sister especially after the whole family is racist against her bf. Too close to home for me :(

It’s interesting hearing about a Christian family next but so many similarities

I’m curious to see how the characters intertwine. It’s immensely sad from the beginning.

It’s read in an interesting style that I need to get used to. As well as characters and chapters.

I’m reading this for AAPIH month. I got it from one of those book exchanges. The book is well written. Very descriptive. It’s sometimes hard to remember all the characters and the timing. I wish I was listening to it because I don’t think I’m pronouncing the Vietnamese words correctly. WWII being the topic of the book is a little too close to home as the Israel & Palestine war is happening right now.

It’s definitely starting to get a bit creepy and more strange and is becoming a very quick and easy / captivating read that I’m enjoying!

Great so far. Helping me get back into reading. Reminds me of Gone Girl / Girl in the Train. Reading a chapter at a time but would read more if I had more time at the end of the night. Resting for a book club at work so hoping to finish in time!
