I should have consumed this book before “How to be an Anti-racist”. This book is painful, my shoulders are tight.
Both Kendi’s book and this book were written during Trump’s first term when we thought it couldn’t get worse. Little did we know his efforts to Make America White Again was going to be so sweeping.

Damn- her truth stabs at my raised-by-wolves experience with “I’ve been raised and educated to please white people.” It hurts to realize but no there’s no greater truth in America.

Ok, I admit it. I listened to the audiobook the first time. I enjoyed the humor, the philosophy and the voice actor. This time around I have the paperback and it is the better experience by far.

White willful ignorance stings me still.

Reading it again just because it’s so warm and sweet.

I’m so uncomfortable. The gaslighting, the erasure of the past, the torture. This is so hard.
