So Pongo, the dog, is quite clever and even enjoys Shakespeare, but Missus, also a dog, can’t figure out *her* right from her left. This is only one example. It’s driving me crazy. Otherwise, a fun read, so far, with my kids.

I’m feeling disappointed. I was hoping for a much stronger female lead character. Elizabeth Swan, pirate king; Mary Read & Anne Bonny. Instead Belle is a pampered, naïve, self-important socialite, who really does need saving by a man at every turn. Not what I was expecting, but I’m hopefully, perhaps foolishly, soldering on.

So far, this is fantastic. I started it as a teaser before bed; an awful idea. Plan on being hooked. Prepare accordingly. Now, will I stay up way too late devouring this one, or wisely retire before midnight? To be determined.

So many tears!! What a beautiful love story of second chances and forgiveness.

You guuuuys. I can not. So many tears. I love this so much. SO thought provoking. Very different from my typical read. How does Backman write about such heavy things in such a light hearted way!?

DNF. I really wanted to like this. Maybe if I was reading instead of listening…
My issues…
1. The narrator is… uuggh *full body shiver* Maybe it’s just me but it was painful.
2. The perspective… (3rd person present). Also painful. I had a hard time understanding what is going on and even harder time getting into it.

Pros:
Great idea! I really wanted to love it.

A little bit of a slow start but it picked up fast and now I cannot stop laughing. Oh goodness. Five stars thus far for sure!

Just realized this is a continuation of the Colorado Cowboy series. So read those first haha

Eh. It just felt kind of flat for me. I’d rather read some thing else.

If one more person “licks dry lips” 🙄 Still enjoying the series though.

Oh I love Aunt Matilda!

A Lesson in Love - 4 or 5 stars. I loved the unique-ness of a newly-wed rather than a courting couple.

Dream of a Glorious Season - 5 stars until the proposal. I don’t know why but proposals just make me cringe.

A Christmas Promise - 4 stars

The Road to Cavan Town - 4 ⭐️

A Happy Beginning - five star novella. I really loved this one. The con of novellas is they are never long or detailed enough. But it is nice to be able to finish in one sitting.

A Friend Indeed - I throughly enjoyed this quick sweet romance. I could have read a whole novel about Caroline and George.
