And there you go. A question answered.

I am now fully invested in this story. How good is that? I have just about finished book 2 and there are another 10 or so for me to read at bedtime. I am sorted for a while.

I think this one is going to be a bit slow paced at the start as we learn who is who in the HTK.
I am not a big fan of god characters in general and I am struggling to get my head around a ancient entity that is portrayed and acts like a 9yo boy.

So this book is a huge step up from the first book. The range in characters is good, the world building is excellent and whilst there is a bit of a dialogue hangover from the last book between two characters I can see past that.
This story is a big adventure of 3 groups all heading to the same place, a bit Tolkienesque.

I am enjoying this second book. A lot of the clunky dialogue that was in book one is not evident. The pacing is good and the characters are developing nicely. If this keeps up I will be happy as this is a monster of a series that will keep me busy for a while.

After the opening intro chapter, this story has been a constant space battle, it is just constant.

I have five books on the go at the moment, so normality has resumed, it appears.

Officially I am not reading this, as it is lined up for a buddy read at the end of the month. So I am just peaking at the moment. Damn 20% already?

This is growing on me. That was a good couple of chapters with some decent dialogue and plot progression. The Maigrath and Yggur relationship is somewhat more believable now.

Wow! a couple of pages to remind you who is who and where you left off and BANG! Back into a huge fleet battle. Carrying on where we left off then. No rest for the wicked.

Since this series has been sitting on my shelves for years and because I finished book 1, I thought it would be a ideal bedside table book.
Getting past the 90's writing style is a bit of a challenge at times, but there is a huge story here is delve into.

Hmmm. A bit light and fluffy so far. The characters are a bit flat and the dialogue is ...... expected, I kind of know how they are going to talk to each other. The Emperor's character is unpalatable at the moment, my daughter at age 9 wrote more believable characters than this guy.

But hey, books 1 -3 were free and it's on my phone, so its a fill in book and I will give it more time. Only at 15% after all.

Looking forward to seeing how this plays out. I feel that things are going to go expectantly.

I now remember how much this book seems to accelerate the excitement at the end of this series.

This one is going on hold as the library wants it back. Have to wait a month. We'll park this story and go to Fergus Crane. Which is a shame as this was starting to get exciting.

So we decided to read another one of Stewart's book, because we loud Corby Flood, which I have read to both kids over the years. It's not as fun as Corby, but still an enjoyable read.

Geralt doesn't seem to have any issues throwing his leg over the hot princess/possible monster the night before possibly having to take her head from her shoulders. I guess when you are a Witcher you take it where you can get it.

I know Steven Erikson was influenced by Glen Cook. Reading Filed Teeth is like being in part of a Malazan story.

Reading Filed Teeth. A good old fashioned spooky horror story to chill you before bed.

The crux is, who will take the first step? If one’s survival is based on the subjugation and consumption of others and if that should be the universe’s iron law of life and civilization, then whoever first rejects it in favor of introspection will certainly perish.
