So I hate this but I love this. Everyone is kind of unlikeable, but it works?! Kind of?! It isn’t exactly enjoyable reading like I’m loving all the characters, but I like them enough to care about their stories. I think the author was very creative in making this almost parallel in plot to the original work while being creative. More on this later. That POD scene tho 🔥🔥🔥

I’m loving this. I want to see where this is going. I’m here for this. It makes me feel all the Latinx diaspora feels and harkens back to my own introduction to telenovelas.

Do you ever do something that you’ve been putting off for a while, Like going to the hair salon or getting a mani pedi? It’s enjoyable, but it takes so much time! “I don’t know if I have that kind of time.” You say to yourself. But when you’re there you wonder what took you so long. “Why did I put it off? This is a luxury.” That’s how I feel reading this right now.

This book is good so far. I said out loud while listening “OH MY GAWD! WE LOVE TATE.” When we find out he gave her the pamphlets. We are ignoring their age and maturity differences. We are IGNORING it DAMMIT!

These Characters are more sympathetic somehow than Conversations with friends. However I have the same sinking feeling as they relate to each other. Rooney writes with such addictive dread.
