Listening to the audiobook. The female narrator ruined it for me. She reads with too much aggression and bitterness and doesn’t fit the words/character. Plus the voice doesn’t match for a Latina mob family princess.

She falls in love way too quickly for someone still married and unsure what to do. A bit unbelievable.

Not my usual read, but oh so good for the soul.

Reminded me of the jonbenet case from the 90’s

Confusing grammar when they introduce a character with a feminine name, don’t tell you anything about them and occasionally use their name and then randomly use they/them. But the author didn’t introduce this character to let you know they use they/them. I felt like I missed something or another character. Sometimes the grammar works with they/them, but sometimes it made my grammar aware self cringe/frustrated.

As a Certified Nurse Midwife myself this book was hard to read. So many inaccuracies. Simple research could have prevented this.
