"It may be impossible to talk about any aspect of the universe objectively, because the universe is ultimately defined by different perspectives on itself." <--nonsense

For all this book's talk of "intuition", there's no justification for why that should be a guide to truth at all. Why, for instance, should we pay any more attention to Buddhist/meditative experiences meant to notice consciousness than "normal" everyday conscious experience? It seems to me that these are just *different* states of consciousness, not that one is able to plumb a deeper truth than the other.

Love it so far. Comes off a little loose with its thesis, but the ideas discussed are so plentiful and impactful the book holds together anyway. I'm particularly liking Part 2 so far (on VCs and Silicon Valley).

This book is mostly good, but man are there a bunch of typos (referring to 3.4.5 when it meant to say 3.4.6. Twice!) and confusing layouts. And it's a 2nd edition! Also the author is WAY to meek with his opinions ("I think this... But others disagree blah blah blah"). Despite this, I do think this book provides valuable concreteness to a notoriously wishy-washy subject, so I'm glad this bedrock of discussion exists.

Age is a risk factor for everything. So are we all doomed? I like that Attia provides a framework that both acknowledges the increased risks of aging and how to minimize it's effect. In short, it's about being so high on the measures of importance that, even when the inevitable decline occurs, you're still well off. He calls it the "Centenarian Decathalon".

It's weird. I don't hate this book. I think it has an interesting premise and plot. The characters aren't amazing but they aren't terrible either. It's just... I find it boring. And I can't quite tell why. I fear I won't pick this back up again since I'm a third of the way through and nothing is really keeping me invested.
