thank you NetGalley for this audiobook arc! so far it’s grabbed ahold and hasn’t let go. a lot of these characters are insufferable and I’m a sucker for a woman drowning in grief and driven by revenge about to blow up her life. I love the narrator.

thank you NetGalley for the ARC. I was so excited when I got this because I loved Monika Kim’s book the eyes are the best part. this book has me in a chokehold. mc is grappling with her family drama & coming to terms with the memories of her sister & their relationship. but then the story is wrapped up in molka voyeuristic hidden cameras & effecting the mc life in every way & sprinkle in the horror folklore.

thank you NetGalley for the arc! so far it’s great -the story pulled me in. im hooked.

some kids never had a chance from the beginning. failed by her mother. violated in the most horrific ways by her father and his friend. absolutely heartbreaking.

chapter 2. this woman went through so much early in her life. heartbreaking. thought-why don’t mothers ask their children why they’re acting out? why are their blinders on to abuse in the home?

Oof that first chapter was rough. The verbiage and choice of words -sentence -stringed together is just distracting and overdone. I get that’s it’s from the 1900s but come on I’ve read other books from the same time period and it was not this difficult and off putting. I don’t know if I’ll be finishing this one.
