Part 3's mystery was kinda convoluted but the character work in this part is 😙👌 also I was under the impression every part is focuses on one case then we move on but this part has been planting seeds that all these crimes are related 🧐 interesting

😦 part two is fucked uppp god tho this is some of the best murder mystery I've read.

okayy the translation i'm reading is split into 5 parts but the goodreads only has this giant book of the entire series. I just finished part 1 and I'm insane. they completely fooled me on who the main couple were going to be. like i was happily enjoying my meal but they poisoned my food with the infinitely more interesting couple and it was not until I was coughing up blood I realized how much better they are.

they were really building up Vanyel to be cold-hearted and closed off then he becomes a couple with the love interest pretty much instantly😭 come on man I wanted at least a little tension

I was still hungover finishing alekseys kingdom I decided to read another of the author's books even tho this book isn't something I'd pick up on my own. the plot is beyond me sometimes but the characters dynamic is interesting also one of the guys last name is mikkelsen and it's impossible to not picture mads lol

I was putting up with the insta-attraction and insta-love bc I thought it'd get better but no it's corny as hell BYE

okayy I know I had a some criticisms about the first book and I didn't have any intentions to continue but I started missing them lol

the beginning didn't grab me but a little after the book shows it's depth. interested to see how far they'll take the anti-monarchy thing with the prince being a love interest

I LOVE unreliable narrators. Especially ones who need some work on themselves. Ryke being a knight who only knows to protect his lord and nothing much else shaking in his boots when he discovers the two guys he's traveling with were actually woman AND lesbians had me dying

I saw a review that this book kinda reads like a YA and I agree. it has that coming of age adventure feel to it. so it's crazy when the book just dumps graphic descriptions of gore and torture on your lap lol

fun book so far, interesting premise and world building and characters that make you want to know more about them. the crew have such great chemistry with each other I keep getting wondering if they're dating LOL. even tho nothing's confirmed yet I get the vibe of "kid with one foot out of the closet gets adopted by a gang of gay thieves" from it lmao

interesting take on "guy gets swept away into another world" kind of story. surprisingly immerses me in the world pretty quickly, and at the same time I never know what to expect next. very interested in the time fuckery (time travel? time loops?! alternative timelines??!) they're playing with.

how could this book make me want something so bad but make me grieve so hard once it gives it to me 💗

just when I think its slowing down it sneaks a punch to my gut. it's really good to see Rodrigo develop on his own. I've always said it's fucked up the best thing you can do to a ship is separate them and unfortunately it's very true here lmao. but even though Rustin isn't around he still affects the story and it stings my heart every time
