These are tight, intense, and kick like moonshine at their endings; I need to pace myself, I think. Lots of emotional punches being thrown here.

Just read the first story in the collection and I can tell this book is going to be very good to my language boner.

My entire life is a to-do list right now, which means I'm barely reading anything. Solution? Put books on the to-do list. (People tell me there is a thing called "unstructured time" but I have yet to find any.)

Talking writing with Robin on the couch and tonight's winner seems to be "Look at this trope. Now look at me. Look back at the trope. Look back at me. This trope is now diamonds."

My brain is total mush with a bad cold this week so apparently it is "binge on other people's words" time.

The person who recommended this to me was correct in doing so. Tho I wish I'd gotten to see more of Ian's story.

I can't help some sort of bemused mixed feelings about the terrifying woman who brings cataclysm in her wake and holds these beautiful men in unwilling thrall. I mean, perfect characterization of Lilith! But She's an... interesting choice of plot-driver. So far would recommend to people who like high-strung melodramatic vampire boys, though.

I have been so slow with my M/M group story but it's finally coming together. It just needed more property damage.

I had trouble with the start of this one - Miriam comes off really psycho goblin dream girl - but the narrative's unfolding in a really good tease-the-reader-forward-with-mystery way.

"he'd lost the right [to treat someone kindly in bed]" is a thing that always frustrates me. you're only making things more complicated for everyone, Darius. ...I can't stop reading, though.

Probably likely to be helpful stuff, but the thing about picking up a used copy pubbed in 1989 is that it's already quaintly dated in places. "Right now, oil and gas is cheap, but if you can imagine it being four to six times its current price, chemical fertilizers wouldn't be such a good deal anymore!"

This was out of print back when I first discovered Delany's work. I stumbled on a used copy in a bookstore yesterday and picked it up to read the beginning, and then needed to keep going. The way that the text asks the reader to construct meaning is humbling and compelling. mmmf.
