I forgot to add this, I have been listening to this since August.

I already love it.

I am enjoying this a lot a lot. The shifts in perspective are perfection, it's just the right amount of creepy, and I am very invested in the main storyline.

I am absolutely loving this in a way I have not loved a fantasy novel in a while. Hopefully a return to form - as I said the exact same thing a few years ago about his earlier City of Stairs which remains one of my favourite books.

I expected this to be darker and meaner in its world building.

I am adoring the world building - absolutely hating the main male love interest. So much that I am close to bouncing off. But the world! It's so good!

I am reading this because the male main character has been compared to Connor Rogan and Kaleb Krychek and I am nothing if not predictable. I am very much enjoying this!

This is SO good.

This was my last unread series by my "break-in-case-of-emergency" authors and the first book of theirs I am kind of not enjoying at all. And I needed a win so badly. I am not confident it'll get better given that my problem with the book is that both main characters are unbearably annoying.

Oh, I am loving this.

I don't know why I am surprised at this, but. Didion is a genius. This is so good.

Surprising absolutely nobody - I love this. On a technical level, this might be Rooney's best book yet.

Exquisitely written, abysmal pacing.

This reminds me very much of Laini Taylor's writing and in the same way the lush and description heavy language really works for me - until it doesn't anymore and then I find it indulgent.
