Wow. This book is great. So atmospheric and uneasy. It’s genuinely giving me the willys, as it were. I love the little cast of characters and the way they interact.
I’m reminded that this book, specifically the opening paragraph, is what inspired Stephen King to write Salem’s Lot (my fave Steve King book). I also wonder if Mark Z. Danielewski was thinking of this book when writing House Of Leaves.

Been wanting to read this forever. Since I read Stephen King’s Danse Macabre back in the day (a brilliant book if you wanna read about horror books), but just never got round to it. Then I noticed this morning that Netflix is just about to release it as a series. And it is coming up to Hallowe’en.
I’m going in......

Halfway in and loving it.

Been so looking forward to reading this.....

This is one of my all time favourite gn’s, like, EVAH. And I want to read it one more time before they ruin it with the film*

Need something pulpy after that last book, so am giving this a go.

This is what they want! Contemporary old school horror. Great fun so far. No messing about, straight into the scary stuff.

Ok. I give up. It’s not often that I don’t finish a book, but I’m just over halfway through, and it’s dull dull DULL.
It’s well written, I guess, but I’m just not interested enough to be bothered to wade through to the end.
It’s Halloween, and I want some good old fashioned horror!
