This year’s first unfinished read. I don’t know if this is the wrong time for me and this story, but I just can’t finish it. The men seem like whiny pampered boys and the story too meandering and slow. Sorry to be so uncultured, but I don’t care for it.

Enjoying it so far, except:

If a man writes that the queen isn’t very bright, and a bunch of men agree, in a world dominated by men and an era of extreme sexism... perhaps take them with a grain of salt.

I’m loving the feminist commentary on fantasy and fairytale stories. Also, I have made some very unladylike snorts throughout listening to this.
I keep being reminded of Monty Python, Terry Pratchett, and my favorite Dungeons and Dragons podcasts all at the same time. Thoroughly delighted by all this.

Audible Escapes

Another Audible Escapes.

Little pet peeve: why do all the pirates have the same accent? Pirates came from all over. If you’re going to give them an accent, at least add some variation.

Listening through Audible Escapes.

Still rereading/listening to the series to enjoy the Girls Gone Canon episodes devoted to these books. And still not regretting it one bit.

I started of writing about my history with Les Miserables, clearly a 420 character limit is not enough to contain my love for this book. So I will only use my closing line:

I am still in love.

Thoroughly fed up with Roi. Skipping to the third book.

Some seriously troubling scenes. Really starting to hate Roi.

Just a little was in and as always with this author: this is far from literature, I wouldn’t want to meet any of these guys in real life, and the ladies need to learn some common sense. That said, these are a fun little guilty pleasure when my brain is too tired for something more intelligent.
Seriously though: don’t touch people you’ve just met while they’re sleeping! That’s just creepy!

Kindle freebie. I was looking through my kindle to see what I wanted to read next and found this. Most free ebooks don’t seem that good, but so far I think this might be an exception.
