I do love that she’s admitting that she fell for the first person to offer her comfort and kindness in the moment. Need more of that in fantasy books.

On a reread it’s so obvious to see him tripping over things about the “bond” when trying to explain it lol

I’m intrigued. Took me a bit to get used to the writing style as it seems to be told entirely in epistolary style from many points of view. Makes sense since that’s how Dracula was written, I believe.
