So far pretty good, but I'm waiting to see what happens still, how the mystery goes. Very atmospheric and perfect for these winter limbo days.

Maybe... maybe I have to face the fact that proper speculative / "hard" sci-fi isn't for me. I just can't turn my scientific brain off. Maybe if it's in a sem field I don't understand or know very well. Maybe space opera is more for me. I'll finish his book because the first story was very mind-bending, in the good way.

This book is giving me nothing to work with. It's meandering, with an unserious jabbing tone while dealing with sensitive topics (war, slavery, gore, authority abuse, poverty, etc). Characters are unlikable (they're all so full of themselves). It keeps introducing new characters instead of developing existing relationships between the main characters. It's like reading a mcu movie

I have been swayed. And so far i's not terrible. I might actually enjoy this faerie series

Mm idk I don’t think I’m loving the characters as much as I should for this become a favorite (so far I do like Lan, but Hilo is a bit exasperating and the others are boring.) We’ll see.

What is with books recently that they make me cry??

I can't let this book go I've been glued to it. Will see how it goes but so far is great and very intriguing. (And the characters are very cool.)

I’m not sure if I’m liking this book or not, but it’s definitely addictive.

And how many crisis can Breq solve in 50 pages. You’d be surprised. Sometimes solves 3 simultaneously. Fleet captain is the tired parent to an entire system with planet and station, and I love her so much!

In which Breq, our precious, tired ship AI in a human body, becomes the tired parent of an entire system.

Geez, Bradbury was one of _those_ older people. You know. Boomers.

So never would I thought that in my life I would read about someone being hit in battle by giant testicles. Guess life will always surprise you ??

Take a shot every time Gwynne says shingle(s) or fjord(s) in this book. You might die of alcohol poisoning though.

So between Fitz and Nighteyes there's one single brain cell shared. And Nighteyes has it 100% of the time. Fitz is like an owl. Straightforward, skilled, deadly, and so heartbreakingly stupid.

So... Two things:

Bree is the Lady of the Lake or what? (Or maybe SHE is arthur tho?)

And

I like Nick like every other person but he's a bit too... Perfect? Like, men like him don't exist. They exist in Jane Austen's novels but only there. Real life says men are trash.

I am so confused. What is going on? Wait... is this sci-fi? I now fear this book is going to be a disappointment given this beggining :/

I love these two so much. The book so far is pretty great :)

I love these two so much. The book so far is pretty great :)

It's a slow book, and it only got interesting in the last 100 pages or so. But I am liking it so far. I don't mind slow books, and I'm very intriguied to where this story is going.

This book (this series) is sooo good! I needed reads like this now. It's been a while since I stayed up all night reading.
