One of those moments when the writing and pacing are so off that the plot--no matter how unique and whimsical it is--cannot be saved

the first 60 pages featured her meeting Jacks, proposing a deal, finding out about Luc's stone circumstance, becoming a stone herself, de-stoning, becoming the fan favourite of her town, having several mental breakdowns AND being invited by the royals for some sinister plan I presume.
