I survived 190 pages. I kept going because JC can write really well, but as the pages fell aside I began to realise the story was not really getting going. The story did not advance in the first 100 pages, and as well as long descriptions of the landscape and the characters inner musing we also learn what she is wearing from minute to minute and that her hair is worn in bangs (?). pge after page where the story doe
