I'm completely enchanted by the prologue.

Straightforward and helpful. A little unnecessarily anxious here and there (you'll never get published without a rigid 3 act structure!) but mostly great and written to be understandable

Then I checked the audiobook and I have 7 hours left???? What?!

I thought the opening stories were great and had good hooks. Now I'm a bit lost, and since there's no central point of view character, it's hard to care. I can imagine, if I were a huge Rennaissance or European history buff, this would all be VERY exciting. But I am not, sooooo

This is amazing. I like YA fantasy in general but don't usually get absorbed like this. I am absorbed!

Alright this is more like it!!! With all the pieces set up in the last book, now things are really moving. Way more energy, humor, and intensity than Peace Talks.

The writing is as stunning as I remember. There are some rougher edges that I forgot about (some sudden and ROUGH racism), but overall for a book this old, it's remarkable how fresh everything reads. I have already laughed and cried

Sometimes super fun! Sometimes written too aggressively?

My kid said, "I don't think Charlie is EVER going to change into a chicken."

Sometimes I like this book a lot. Sometimes the story vanishes, the paragraphs become all the same length, and it backtracs on itself over and over to flesh out how some character happened to slightly influence some earlier event.

The opening had a great "like the Tombs of Atuan, except everyone is an orc" vibe

It's definitely gotten more unique and more twisted! There are some good mysteries about the magic and the weird cult.

The names feel a little off. And the music stuff is okay? I still deeply feel the absence of Kvothe, which is super unfair.

Curious to see how twisted the naive main characters have to get to survive this whole ordeal.

One complication: the musical parts make me wish I was re-reading The Name of the Wind instead of this. I know that's unfair, and yet...
