Listening to the audiobook narrated by the author’s son. Deep story threads through this family. I like the use of “story” as a verb. Refreshing.

Rereading. Audiobook. Exquisite. While the movie was quite faithful, so much more is in the book, naturally. Like Dimitri wasn’t even in the movie.

Like an episode of High Potential in San Francisco

This book is so fun.

A lot of true crime in this cozy mystery. Not usually my jam, but my daughter said it was no scarier than High Potential.

I like these stories. There’s sweetness silliness, and depth.

Maybe now I get why the narrator is different from the author.

Whoa. Multi-format storytelling. I dig it. Complicated family trauma stuff. I wasn’t ready for it.

Identifying with the narrators bicultural background and being told they are not enough.

I am totally invested.

Listening is especially fun because it’s not totally clear if the conflict is nearing the end of the story or not. The characters are acting as if it is, but they don’t know that it’s not gonna work out and the story will continue :)
