Cannot finish, no interest in subject matter.

My second attempt at finishing this book. I give up. There are too many books waiting for me. This just not hold my interest on any level.

Have not finished…. Yet. SIGH

Restarted in July, 3034 because I never finished. Am still having trouble. Sigh.
It is now two weeks later. Nd I am still having trouble.

Reading the reviews of this book is like listening to the news every day and the hearing the reviews of our newly elected President Trump. I can't wait to read this and try to remain objective. It will not be the first time that I read a book that others disliked and at my age it is not the first President that people disagreed with. Somethings just never change.........isn't it great?!

Just can't seem to finish this at this time in my life. Going to shelve it for a while and pick up something to forget about the strife going on .........and on, and on.

I started this book on August 11th having just finished Mrs. Lincoln's Dressmaker. The main character, Kate Chase Sprague, was briefly mentioned in the "Dressmaker" book, it should be interesting to see this character developed by Chiaverini. I went to school with a Richard Sprague, wonder if she was a relative of his.

I have finished the first book of this Chronicles.........Village School. Miss Read is what I call a comforting read, and especially welcome at this time of year, when be safe and warm feels good. I feel as if I am visiting friends and she has the ability to describe things in a manor that we feel as though we were there. Oddly enough in the second book the weather pattern seems to be matching my present one.

I am most blessed to have a friend like Linda K. I had commented that our library system did not have additional Miss Read stories and I had thoroughly enjoyed two this past Fall. Just before Christmas a delightful package arrived, a gift from Linda this book. I am excited to start it tonight as the temp drops to around 5 degrees. How perfect to snuggle under the comforter and read. Thank you, thank you!

I love the behind the scenes peek into her world. I just wanted to go on to something with an "escape" from reality. It is a very lengthy and interesting book and I am about half way through it. Maybe later this winter when I am not so busy .

Historical fiction.....I have a feeling I willl devour this quickly, at least from the reviews.

Hegi captured my attention with the first paragraph. I love a book I can live with for a number of days. I don't like to rush through a book like this, but savor it.
