never read autofiction so hellbent on not examining the root cause of the narrator’s insane behavior. why have such Freudian fixated characters if you don’t tell me anything about their family of origin or past?? somehow both infuriating but also incredibly dull so far. the writing so far is much better than I expected from my hazy memory of this book’s 2012 cultural zeitgeist…enjoying so far!

you can poke fun at how long it’s taken to read a tiny book and I would reply that it was genuinely worth savoring
