This book is too boring to be a thriller and too cliche to be familial literacy fiction. I don’t care to know anything about any of the main characters because they are all so bleh. I’d love for them to stop calling each other severely f’d up bc genuinely this family’s conflict is nonexistent. Also all characters are so one note and it reeks of internalized misogyny.

The characters are so boring. I keep being told how f’d they are but genuinely they are so bland and give nothing. Also the deep one liners every few sentences are getting old. The MC is also stale. I genuinely hate being in her head via 1st person lol

I’ve guessed the major plot twist and I’m hoping I’m wrong bc it shouldn’t be this easy to figure out. We’ll see

I don’t understand how the husband had a complete change in character. I genuinely get angry reading this. But I can’t put is down.

The writing is so bad but the plot is entertaining.

Almost half way through this book and I don’t find myself caring much. The charm of Legends and Lattes just isn’t captured here. But I’m holding out.

The constant existentialism of suburbia is getting on my nerves. I think suburbia has been written so many times it’s becoming a joke. The MC talks about it like it’s hell on earth, meanwhile having a best friend and loving parents. Just feels a bit too angsty and superfluous. And in that, makes it hard for me to connect with this character. Don’t get my started on the characters’ names, its giving Twilight

DNF’ing this story is going on too long.

Main character is giving big savior complex energy and it’s annoying. Also as someone who has a mental disorder, this feels disingenuous. The representation of mental illness is…off. I really hope there’s a plot twist and the main character realizes he’s got it all wrong and the girl he’s trying to save is not the victim he’s made her out to be.

Kit is such a nosy b*tch taking other people’s tragedies as HER business. I can’t 💀 other that it’s good lol
