Archy is 80% done with The Anarchy: The East India Company, Corporate Violence, and the Pillage of an Empire
This book is at most 10% about East India Company, everything else is just Indian history of that period, mostly recited from another author.

So far mostly about Mughals, very little about East India company itself. Too many Indian names and words, not very understandable, I expected the
book to be more about the EIC.

Archy is 75% done with The Middle Kingdoms: A New History of Central Europe
There is a chapter about year 1848 and revolutions in all of Central Europe which curiously avoids even the slightest mention of Karl Marx and the Communist Manifesto which was published that same year. Author goes to great lengths to describe minute details of revolutions but there is not a single word about such important text of that time.

Interesting book, but it bothers me that author keeps using word Russia to describe Eastern European lands literally thousand years before Russia came into being. It is strange that Professor of Central European history at the School of Slavonic and Eastern European Studies(according to Wikipedia) doesn’t know that the land he talks about was called Rus’ and not Russia.

Switched to English version because Russian translation doesn’t make sense. Usually it is vice versa, but in this case English is much better.

Archy is 50% done with Technofeudalism: What Killed Capitalism
The ideas in the first part are very interesting and help to better understand current reality, on par with Burnout Society. There is too much of belligerent language and militarized slang which is a bit uncomfortable to read, given the subject discussed. Second part(more “practical”) started very poorly, it is immediately clear that author has never been a part of corporate world and lives in theoretical realm.

Can’t read English translation by Michael Hofmann because it uses weird mix of US/Australian slang which gives the feeling that events in the book happen somewhere in Brooklyn/Bronx and the main character is not Franz Biberkopf but Crocodile Dandy. Unfortunately, russian translation is a soviet one and thus heavily censored. Dann wird es Zeit, Deutsch zu lernen.

Archy is 60% done with Plutarch's Lives
Second year of gym-only audiobook. 45 hours left. It is shame that absolute majority of people described in this book did nothing, but squander national wealth, kill each other and bring lots of suffering to other people. The most interesting and instructive so far were the first described - Lycurgus and Numa Pompilius

No one is allowed to look into the darkness with his eyes open; he is blindfolded beforehand.
This is why situations lived through are never so bad in reality as in imagination.
Nature sees to it that trees do not grow beyond certain height, not even the trees of suffering.

After going heavily into classic books this year, I started to go mental because of the fact that all of them are prefaced with introduction by some contemporary retard who thinks he is entitled to write 50-100 page introduction to the book and that his opinion and interpretations are invited.
