Nothing like having to wait months to get the ebook from the library for the second time to test the strength of your memory.

I know this book is popular and beloved, but it is not for me which I figured as soon as I saw a quote on the back that mentioned Pride and Prejudice, but book before movie. (I still plan to see the movie)

Another month, another Sunday spent frantically reading the book club book the day before the meeting.

So far I see why this book is getting so much hype. I was hooked from the start and am intrigued.

Although I probably need to stop comparing the royal family to the Maresh family, but that might be asking too much of myself.

Am I at an AP Institute this week? Yes
Did I also start a new book yesterday? Yes
However, when the sequel to an amazing book you finished yesterday becomes available at the library, the first things no longer matter.

I cannot tell if this book is just not as entertaining as My Lady Jane or if my Shades of Magic trilogy book hangover is causing this book to be meh, but either way I am not fully invested in this story.

I only waited three weeks or so to start this sequel after finish A Darker Shade of Magic and I still was so happy to have the characters back in my life.

This month's book club pick is already a million times better than last month's.

Awkwardly updating my page count for this month's book club book two hours after the meeting ended. Oops.
