good story... the unfortunate thing about reading this book is there's a lot of totally unnecessary sad descriptions about animals... heartbreaking descriptions. not once, was mentioning these animals even remotely inherent to anything at all. just random pages and pages of sad details regarding animals. i nearly stopped reading it several times as for me personally, it's something i can't tolerate.

the book is long... too long. i started losing interest a while back ... it's a little confusing to me as there are some supernatural elements to it that i can't really understand & it just made plowing through the book even more frustrating...
