I hate it when there are far fewer pages on the right hand side of the book than the left. Why does the last half always go so much faster than the first half?

Interesting relationship emerging between Bumi and Mark. I do have to wonder though if Mark is a social worker how he would not be aware of OCD. The social workers I know always seem to be diagnosing my clients with this that and the other disorder even though they are not psychologists or psychiatrists.

Chapters 9-14 totally engrossing. Joy of parenthood, betrayal, torture, escape. Ukrainian Christmas in October, Cdn/Indonsn family - (in)tolerance of a Million little things vs. 33. So interesting.

Bumi and Mark are both giving me a headache. Reminds me of first year U and intro to social work course, which thankfully dissuaded me from becoming a social worker. Perhaps I should have been swilling back some alcoholic beverages while reading to capture the full effect.

With the partridges now. They're disappearing one by one! This story I remember!

I'm enjoying reading this book. I don't recall any specific story. I do recognize the author's writing style - almost like the poetry of nursery rhymes.
