It’s been 84 years since I started this book. I don’t know if I’ll finish it...
How can I read such drab YA, when other YA books like SADIE exist ruining my life with how awesome they are??

This book is written so cutesy like Narnia or something, and then BOOM it’s describing some hardcore Dark Stuff in the same cutesy narrative voice and it’s deeply unsettling!

Y’all this book is hella depressing

This book is always like, “ok good we got that 1 page of action out of the way now we can have 13 pages of boring and embarrassing romance”

I love these characters and this world so much!! I already want to cry knowing when I finish this book I have to wait a whole year for more :((((

Holden is absolutely season 2 Matt from Daredevil (holier than thou and annoying as shit) and Miller is my anti-hero bae with a secret soft heart, Frank Castle (fitting since Thomas Jane also played the Punisher). I just truly want to slap Holden and then give Miller a hug.

I ADORE this book. And the plot has already surpassed the events of season 1 on the TV show version, which is unexpected & makes me extremely giddy :)

This book is like Fanfiction: The Novel. Guy & girl hate each other, get thrown into an adventure, have to pretend they have a different relationship than they do. Begrudgingly grow into friendship, then grow into....?? AND I LOVE IT!!!

The writing is more elevated than I expected. A definite plus. And even though Darrow is perfect at everything he does, he is also brutal and that's interesting. And I have no idea where this book is going: is he at the institute the whole time? How much of the book will this inter-house "war" take up? Where is this all leading? Surprised Darrow wasn't given clear instructions on just HOW to overthrow the Golds.

"The man's a legend; all the other divers just a flash in the pan. I might be better than him." Ok, Darrow is already annoying me with how awesome he is. And can YA quit making 16 & 17-year olds as mature & experienced as 35yr olds?? Like, maybe just write older characters??

My Kindle says I still have 5 hours left. What else could possibly happen??? So much has already happened!!

I'd forgotten the details of the first book so I read a detailed summary and DANG I now remember how crazy and insanely good it was! So pumped for this sequel now!!
