I don’t speed up books I enjoy but I have to know why are we in Geemanyyy

Reading with Liam (age 7) before bed - he does not like how short the chapters are.

I do look forward to understanding why Anne Frank is playing a pivotal role all of the sudden.

I forgot how much I really enjoy this series.

😭 what the heck is this horrific story?

It grieves me so, to have so much time left in such a long and horrid book. I musn’t think that Mr Heathcliff should have any redeeming qualities befitting a motion picture movie. But if it weren’t for my own stubbornness and strong will I should have abandoned this dull thing much sooner upon the start. Whereas, I should have known better when I did not take to this belabored book the first time. Nevertheless..

I am just trying to understand… what is lovable about any of these characters?

I just need to pop on here to say that this book is so lovely. I don’t want to rush through it. I want to savor it like a good desert and learn more about how it was made. I know there’s much more to read but there’s plenty to learn about these cultures and histories (for me anyway).

Note to self: do not read before bed hoping to fall asleep.
