It's usually hard to find a character in books whose sleuthing methods don't leave me questioning their brains but Grubbs isn't one of them. I like his investigative, reasoning and deductive process. Kid's got brains

Does every crime book have to have a killer who pursues our protagonist or someone close to them despite them not fitting their profile? Cause that's where we are at now

Jeez. Hopefully we'll get to the actual story after these two tell us for the fifth fucking time that they aren't attracted to each other but they fin each other attractive and bearable. The strange phone calls that Hill gets are kinda annoying. They take me out of the story.
