The second half is shaping up to be a dry, tiresome account of a court case for a barely interesting crime. This book sucks.

The writing is decent, and the sci-do settings are interesting. The storylines, however, are absolutely useless, anticlimactic and boring as hell. I think I’ll hate this by the time I finish, which is unfortunate because he’s so highly recommended by sci-fi lovers.

So far I love the pacing of the book. Cutting straight into the plot with no time wasted!

150 pages in and we’re still building the characters laying out the setting for a predictable romance and a boring outcome. Really not enjoying this.

Enjoying the character development in a way that I don’t normally in novels. A few interesting insights on human behavior and development, too.

I rarely find book labeled ‘comedies’ funny, but this one is surprising me so far. Predictable plot and droning at times, but I’m enjoying it more than I thought.
