More fiction than history, but had a good start.

I started with Part 4 1960’s to Hoover’s death in 1972. Excellent review of US history and the FBI. Now will read from the beginning.

The chapters of this book are either now or then with no numbers. This is frustrating when listening to the book for it is so easy to get lost.

Michael Koryta’ writing style is intelligent, believable, and powerful. The settings are real Rooftop Quarry and Republic in Bear Tooth Mountains.

Warning: includes animal abuse. Is troubling but plot’s reference to Tesla and Edison is intriguing,so I will continue.

Did not finish but will definitely check out again or buy audible version.

Chapter 3 audio version. I love author’s voice and pace giving a meditative relaxing quality that soothes. I have listened to each chapter several times. Chapter 3’s focus is his only sibling and his mother and why the author decide to work at the museum.

Switching from audible to written to sort it out.Too many characters and interrelationships

A good listen at first but then not, so switched to reading.

I found the perfect book to read along with the Audible version of The Voyage of The Beagle. It is The Illustrated Edition of Charles Darwin’s Travel Memoir and Field Journal published by Zenith Press. My wanderlust armchair journey is now beginning!

I’m going to Monticello next month so am reading and reviewing my books about Jefferson. If you are interested in Thomas Jefferson and Monticello, there are many excellent videos on Utube.

Another intriguing start for this book telling how she met and became friends with Martin and Binnie. This book was published in 2011 but series’ first book, A Death Qualified, was published in 1991. Martin and Binnie have been in all of these books, therefore the books were not all published in fictional chronological order. All are excellent reads and the order may not matter to most readers.
