Not as captivating as the first two in the series. To me, Sigrud is not that interesting to be the protagonist and the other characters are as well boring.

Chris Nagy is starting A Very British History: The Best Science Fiction Stories of Paul McAuley, 1985 – 2011
Just ordered this on Kindle and as where I don't usually buy books on Kindle I am such a fan of McAuley I had to get this. I think his new book is out also, but only on Kindle. I'll think I'll wait for the book itself.
Anybody else like McAuley? Please let me know.

Great stuff. The writing is very clean and detailed. Easy to follow.
So far a fantastic followup to City of Stairs.

Chris Nagy is on page 100 of 722 of Night Terrors: The Ghost Stories of E.F. Benson (Tales of Mystery & The Supernatural)
This will take years. I like benson, but a lot of these are mediocre and there are about 50 stories or so. Reading in no order. Like a book of shorts should be read.

One of Asher's best so far. Intricate plotting, good characterization, and outstanding world building. I hope this doesn't fall apart, but right now it seems destined to a satisfying conclusion.

Chris Nagy is on page 340 of 500 of Hyperion (Hyperion Cantos, #1)
This book is absolutely amazing. With a name like Dan Simmons, I thought it would be the obvious trite hack writer, but this man is a genius. Combining the world's religions into a captivating piece of mystery, sci-fi, goth noir is simply beyond fantastic. WOW.

Chris Nagy is on page 577 of 1176 of The Mysteries of London, Vol. I
This is fun reading, like a really good TV series, but Reynolds' depiction of life in nineteenth century London is one of horrors that is hard to believe, but really existed. No hyperbole.

Have given up temporarily. Reynolds is a rather dull writer and I have to be in the mood. Might try again.

Chris Nagy is finished with The Watchmaker of Filigree Street (The Watchmaker of Filigree Street, #1)
I had to give up on this book. Maybe, I'll finish it later. I'm just not pulled in enough. Everything diverges into boring events.
My mind kept drifting and if I'm reading something good that does not happen.

Why did Banks have to die? Hopefully, he revented himself with a neural lace. So far this book explains a lot about the Culture; especially SC. This is the penultimate book of the Culture series I have yet to read and it's a good one and as they all are.
