It has been like 4 years since I read the previous book in the series, but was Evangeline always so insufferable like she is in this one? She is annoying me.

And of course, they just fucked.

I thought that this book would be something different, something original refreshing. In all honesty, it's not. It's not bad, because it's reads pretty fast, but it's more of the same such as books like Fourth Wing and Dire Bound. There must be some Chinese mythology somewhere, but I haven't discovered it yet.

Why is everybody romanticizing Heathcliff? He is not a sweet, charming, lovable man. Instead, he is a toxic, narcissistic, and abusive human being. Or maybe that's just the way Brontë describes him? I don't know, but he doesn't feel like the type of guy everyone seems to mistake him for.
