Jen is starting The Great Alone
Life in the Alaskan bush is fascinating. I enjoyed the descriptions of the setting and the information about what it takes to live such a lifestyle. I felt that the middle of the book was very slow and could have done with considerable less instances of craziness and abuse. I was already well aware of Ernt's issues. It all worked out in the end, but had to suspend a bit of disbelief and there was no real justice.

The main characters have basically been a couple for years, but refuse to admit it. When they finally do, there is a major health issue and job loss. Enter an old lover and tust issues ensue. I am also reminded how offer the words "wryly" and "incredulously" are used. Should have stopped with the Mick O'Briens.

I enjoyed this book much more when I read it. Listening to it was incredibly difficult due to the narrator. I will have to think very hard about listening to anything else if I see his name again...

Always unsure if listening counts, LOL! My lengthy commute somehow never seemed long enough while listening to this one. Enjoyed the narrator, which is not always the case with audio. My guess as to Rosie's pop was considered, but I was happy to be wrong. Looking forward to book 2.
