This book makes me so uncomfortable. But it is supposed to. I almost don't want to read it because it hits so close to home about whats happening in this country.

I am so fascinated by this so far. I am new to a ketogenic lifestyle, and although this is in no way a "recommendation of diet" book, it explains so much about the perception of fat, meat and heart disease in America and where our ingrained disposition has come from. I can't help but think Ancel Keys was the "Trump" of the scientifiic community of the 50s and beyond.

Not sure if I should keep going. The first story, 1922, was almost entertaining. Almost.

Brent doesn't disappoint - I love it already! After a great trilogy like the night angel I always have some sort of fear of not finding something comparable... Thanks for delivering again Brent!!!

Interesting way of looking at things... but not interesting enough for the entertainment I am looking for right now. The only thing that intrigues me is the time period, as my grandmother was a Romanian WWII fugitive and I get glimpses of her spirit here and there.
