I always thought it was strange and thoughtless for Weetzie to only bring Cherokee to meet her dad and not Witch Baby and now this book is addressing that, and continuing to emphasize Weetzies flawed, multifaceted personality as opposed to the one dimensional glitzy punk LA icon of the first book.

Block is good at depicting modern families, not only the mixed queer found family at the center, but Weetzies parents were divorced, Dirk was raised by his grandmother, and Duck's mom is divorced and remarried.

I think it's funny Weetzie is just fine with the genie she got wishes from but a witch's curse is just too unbelievable!

The killer was such the least likely person I had already considered them early on in the book

OMG this book is killing me. Ibrahim! I was enjoying the story so much, what a revelation, and then- of course- we get bury your gays. It's from his past, he's looking back on it, but this could been a better thought-out story, relating to Ibrahim's fear, instead of a stereotype. Oh. Spoilers.

It is PROFOUNDLY annoying that Richard Osman feels the need to mess with the format with every new book

Ok, so the villain is a prominent new character in the book and is around a lot, but little information was provided that would suggest they were the villain beyond little anagrams and whatnot. We were told very little about them and so it would have been difficult to guess they were the villain unless it was just a guess based on nothing.

Pauline must be a red herring, but he does set them up well

I thought this chapter did a good job with explaining why marginalized people may not want a cop around

I'm questioning this villains motivation

I don't know why nobody noticed this, but "burnt -umber" is a pigment, not a skin treatment ingredient!!
