I've been reading a lot of afterlife books lately. Some of them are really compelling with actual case studies that make me wonder if there is life after death.

Then there's this book. WTF.

As a work of science, this book gets zero stars. As a work of fiction, though, this book gets five stars. It's so freakin' outrageous that I can't put it down.

Fantastic so far. It’s truly amazing how these old stories are still influencing modern works.

I see Poe’s “The Fall of the House of Usher” in Black Mirror’s “Playtest.”

I see O’Brien’s “What was it” in the movie Paranormal Activity.

I see Bierce’s “The Death of Halpin Frayser” in Twin Peaks.

On and on.

This collection of stories is excellent. I don’t think I realized how seminal these works were. They’ve influenced generations of writers, not to mention TV shows and movies.

A little supernatural horror before bed. Zzz.

Interesting so far! Though, I spilled beer all over this book and now I'm annoyed at myself.

Hoo boy, this author needs some Ritalin and an editor. I'll do my best to stick with this story but it's all over the place.
