i was 10yrs old when this happened.

in our tiny pre-k, kindergarten, elementary school, middle school, AND high school all in the building, the library was OVERFILLED with students and staff watching it happen.

my dad took me aside after we were sent home and explained what it meant.

this book is definitely emotionally heavy, but SO important for those born after 2001.
